St. Mary-Corwin hospital plans major layoffs
St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center declined to comment on employee reports that the hospital plans a major downsizing that will result in the layoffs of several hundred workers and a reduction in services1.
A number of hospital employees said they were called into meetings at which hospital executives told them of a major restructuring that will result in fewer services and the possible layoffs of 300 workers or more.
St. Mary-Corwin is operated by Centura Health.
Employees at other hospitals operated by Centura fear layoffs could ripple through all of Centura’s medical centers.

Most 401k, Profit Sharing or ESOP plans do not have active management so there is no one guiding the plan investments. What this means is in the event of an economic downturn, there is no method for automatically moving your investments to a lower risk profile to protect your hard earned savings.
With the WealthSentry system we participate in, accounts are automatically re-balanced to lower risk portfolios in the event of a severe downturn. Learn more in our guide, 6 Critical Steps You Must Take Now.
For an in depth analysis of your options feel free to make an appointment, read one of our guides or participate in one of our workshops.
